I was expecting an action packed episode. The action was there just a little bit more subtle. Yeah we had our Indy opening and Stella attack but that was about it. Which was fine. I was worried about them going to over the top. I loved the aspect of a city below the city. I really enjoyed the complexity of the overall case. From James Sutton, not being the "real" James Sutton as well as the link to FDR and a long ago murder of a judge. We also have the fact the Mitch Henson "bought" James Sutton's life in an Internet auction. This episode just had a lot of pieces to a great big puzzle. I love puzzles. Always love Adam. Greek is such a pretty language, even while Stella's being attacked. I was also impressed with Flack, always the gentleman.Watch CSI: NY Season 5 Episode 5 - The Cost of Living - Full Online For Free

This was the episode I've been waiting for and it more than lived up to the hype. Opening it with the arguements was interesting and the splitting into each woman and their own past during that time was a great move. For the flashbacks, it was hilarious seeing Gabby react to her pregnancies (the part of Carlos refusing to put the baby down to face her was great) and I liked how Carlos secretly wanted a son, which makes perfect sense for him. Once again, we see the bond the two have that makes them a great couple.
For Lynette and Tom, his near-death experience explains a lot of his behavior and the tension between them is obvious now. It's like Lynette to call him on always changing himself up but she had to do it as it'll hopefully clear up soon.
The Susan/Mike parts were powerful with Susan begging for one last chance as she didn't want to lose that fairy tale she'd always wanted. That it leads to a current breakup makes sense as well and shows how much Susan has changed.
For Bree to go back to her drinking with Orson gone was a plot so obvious I can't believe I didn't consider it. Katherine helping her out of it was wonderfully done, a testeament to both Cross and Delany's talents. Thus it makes sense Bree would find it hard to push KAtherine aside but good of her to admit what happened to Orson rather than push him away. So we get Dave's moves to get Mrs. MCClusky out of the way and that final scene of him actually seeming sorry to have done it made him even more threatening. I had thought Karen was a target but it seems she's just another step to his ultimate goal. So we get the fleshing out of the past but more plots for the future which should keep this season rolling along perfectly.

Before the show's premiere, it had a working title of Fleet Street, an allusion to the real street in Boston where the fictitious Crane, Poole & Schmidt had its offices. The working title was later modified to The Practice: Fleet Street, but this title was dropped in favor of Boston Legal before the show premiered. Incidentally, the actual building shown on TV as the home of the law offices is located at 500 Boylston Street, 12 minutes away from Fleet Street.
Most of the final episodes of The Practice were focused on introducing the new characters from Crane, Poole & Schmidt in preparation for Boston Legal's launch. Thus, the story of Boston Legal can be said to begin with the episode of The Practice in which Eugene Young and Jimmy Berluti of Young, Frutt & Berluti decided to fire Alan Shore without consulting Ellenor Frutt, beginning a story arc of several episodes. They give Alan a severance package of only fifteen thousand dollars, even though Alan has brought in over six million dollars of revenue to the firm. Tara Wilson gets fired for her loyalty to Alan, and Alan goes to Crane, Poole & Schmidt to represent himself in the matter, thinking he has a claim under Massachusetts law to take over Young, Frutt & Berluti. Denny Crane, senior and founding partner of Crane, Poole & Schmidt, takes an interest in the case and even argues at the trial, cross-examining Young. During this period, Ellenor also has a run-in with Hannah Rose (Rebecca De Mornay), a partner at Crane Poole & Schmidt, who Ellenor ends up seriously injuring when they get into a fight due to Hannah's condescending remarks to Ellenor.
